How Peer Networks delivered by Scale-Ability in 2023 will work:

Boost Business Owners Networks is a Regional peer-to-peer learning and network programme delivered in Lancashire. We bring together diverse cohort groups of individuals to collaboratively work through common business issues. Through interactive action learning, we enable you to discuss your own challenges, gain and reflect on valuable feedback and implement practical solutions to overcome them.

Through our extensive network of clients, associates and other business leaders, we have listened to their concerns and perceived challenges going into turbulent economic conditions.

As a result, we have teamed up with another Boost & Co supporter, Chris Brown of Brown & Co Chartered Accountants to deliver a programme with “Finance for Non-Finance Manager” theme.

Knowing our numbers and being able to get a real handle on our business finances builds confidence in making important decisions about growth and investment in the future.

In the current climate, and being able to confidently grow a business, capitalise on opportunities and develop a team means that confidence in the numbers is more important than ever.

Here’s what we will cover during the programme:

  • Growth planning in challenging times
  • The financial fundamentals: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet
  •  Digital tools for finance – making your life easier
  • Funding – types of funding available, meeting lender requirements
  • Growth – how to budget and forecast
  • Monitoring – which KPI’s to work with
  • our programme begins in Feb 2023 and finishes by the end of June 2023
  • there are eight 2 or 3 hour group sessions
  • you will benefit from 3.5 hours of 1-2-1 coaching
  • first and last meetings are face-to-face and then online
  • onboarding processes assess current situation and experience
  • self-reflection tools available
  • 1-2-1 coaching, session feed-back reports and online software evaluates journey, distance travelled and outcomes
  • learning tools available through an online client portal
  • we use a unique values-based profiling tool which will help you understand how to make the most of what you learn from your peers and facilitators on the programme.

Our participants told us that some key outcomes were:

  • changed mind-set
  • improved clarity on growth plans
  • decisions made and actioned
  • new staff recruited and recruitment processes started
  • new products and services launched

How Scale-Ability’s support for the first 2 years of Peer Networks programme delivered real results:

In 2020, Boost, Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, appointed Scale-Ability as delivery partner for Peer Networks, a government-funded, national business support programme for Lancashire businesses.

This pilot scheme ran from October 2020 to March 2021 and was designed for SME leaders who wanted to improve their business resilience and to reach their goals and address key challenges by working with likeminded leaders.

In 2021, we successfully bid to deliver a further two cohorts of Peer Networks Phase 2, along with a cohort in Cumbria.

We successfully delivered a programme supporting over 50 businesses from more than 15 different sectors, through a series of high impact group sessions, with each cohort led by an expert facilitator from the Scale-Ability team and our trusted, skilled Associates.

As well as thinking innovatively about growth, working collaboratively with peers on current challenges, and investing time in developing and engaging teams and leaders to build a stronger business, each business leader also benefited from one-to-one coaching so that ideas from group sessions could be developed and put into action.

The benefits – more from past Peer Networks participants:

We were delighted with feedback from the past 2 phases of Peer Networks cohorts…

And that’s why we’re thrilled to have been selected again by Boost to deliver
Business Owner Networks in Lancashire in 2023.
